The Judicial Service was held at Reading Minster to mark the start of the Judicial Year on 2nd October. The service is organised by the High Sheriff of Berkshire. The service was attended by civic representatives of the six unitary authorities of Berkshire, the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriffs of Wiltshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire, twelve judges including Mr Justice Nicol from the High Court, HHJ Angela Morris, acting resident judge of Reading Crown Court, HHJ Kambiz Moradifar head of the Family Court in Reading. The Bishop of Reading gave the sermon and the High Sheriff’s chaplain, Revd Richard Cowles led the prayers which were also given by interfaith represntatives. After the service, Graham and Joanna Barker hosted a lunch for the judges and distinguished guests at the Town Hall. The mini police of Reading provided a guard of honour after the service.
