The High Sheriff of Berkshire represents the Sovereign and therefore takes precedence in the county over all but the Lord-Lieutenant, except when they choose to cede precedence where a Mayor is present within their own borough or town.
The current High Sheriff of Berkshire is Sean Taylor DL, who should be addressed as the High Sheriff of Berkshire or by his name. At events, it is good form for someone to be present to greet the High Sheriff upon his arrival, and to escort him out on his departure. At events, the High Sheriff will usually arrive before the Lord-Lieutenant and depart after. According to protocol, the Lord Lieutenant arrives last and leaves first.
The High Sheriff is happy for press releases to be made around events, but no commercial attachment should be made of any kind, except for the name of an event sponsor.
